I've been watching with keen interest and posted a few times, but not really declared an interest to date

I'm an indie programmer and have worked on a number of game system conversions for Fantasy Grounds, but am quite excited by Epic Table: my main interest is to see how it can support custom rules for different game systems. A built in scripting language and exposed object model could both be quite important, together with good control over the layout/screen rendering.

I'm itching to get my hands on this and see what magic can be weaved...

EpicTable is taking a different route from Fantasy Grounds. My goal is to allow non-programmers to adapt games and to do so pretty quickly. As a result, there won't be a scripting language or exposed object model--at least at first. This means that you probably won't get as deep a level of integration as FG. On the other hand, the process of adapting your game of choice will be quicker and accessible to more people. That's the goal anyway.

All that being said, it's possible that after that goal of making some level of game adaptation accessible to everyone is fulfilled, there could be a place for features allowing deeper integration to be built by developer folk.

Glad to hear from you, by the way. I would have sworn that you posted more often--your username is quite familiar to me. I don't want to totally shut you down on the development front (see my earlier post). I just don't want to mislead you into thinking EpicTable is something that it's not.

I think a user-adaptable system would be great news indeed: there are far more game systems that people want to play than there are developers available to build them, and the development effort in FG isn't worth undertaking if the audience for a particular ruleset is small. You haven't dampened my enthusiasm any!
